Donate to Love Stays Home

At the SPCA of Luzerne County, we realized that many families forced to surrender beloved pets were not lacking love, they were facing hardship. Financial struggles, domestic violence, medical emergencies, housing instability, and the rising cost of pet care were leaving people with heartbreaking choices. We knew that if we truly wanted to reduce shelter overcrowding and keep pets safe, we had to focus not only on sheltering animals after a crisis but preventing that crisis from happening in the first place. From that vision, Love Stays Home was born.

Love Stays Home is a compassionate initiative dedicated to keeping pets with the families who love them through life’s most difficult moments. Through Kibble Connection, we provide emergency pet food assistance to seniors, veterans, and families facing food insecurity. Our Angel Fund offers emergency veterinary care assistance so treatable medical issues do not become reasons for surrender or euthanasia. Through Purple Paws Cause, survivors of domestic violence can safely leave abusive situations knowing their pets are securely cared for through confidential boarding and support services.

While we never know when a survivor of domestic violence will need emergency help, when a family will struggle to feed their beloved pet, or when an animal will urgently need life-saving veterinary care, we do know this, every dollar donated to Love Stays Home goes directly back into these critical programs.

Your support means a mother and child can safely leave a dangerous situation knowing their pet is protected through Purple Paws Cause. It means a family won’t have to share their own meals with their pet before turning to Kibble Connection. And it means a loving owner won’t have to surrender or humanely euthanize a suffering pet because they cannot afford emergency care through our Angel Fund.

Every donation provides hope, compassion, and the chance for families and pets to stay together when they need it most. Loved... and at Home.
