The SPCA of Luzerne County Education Programs
The SPCA of Luzerne County's educational programs reach over 2,000 students per year through classroom visits, special events, summer programs, volunteerism, and facility tours. Humane Education is an invaluable tool in building strong, responsible members of our society. If your school does not currently have a humane education program, contact us for details.
Educational Programs
Our Education Department can visit your school with various programs for children from Pre-School through 12th grades. These school visitations are often scheduled approximately 6 months in advance. If you would like to have us visit your school or classroom please contact us at 570-825-4111 or email the Education & Volunteer Director at: spcaedu@epix.net.
Hours of Operation
Educational programs (including shelter tours) are available during our shelter's regular business hours of:11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday,
and Monday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
All programs must be scheduled in advance with departmental staff. Please remember that our education schedule can book up between 2 and 6 months in advance. The Education Department is normally closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and major holidays.
